Why a T-shirt designed like a yukata
Partager
The first Atleïs piece is a long-sleeved t-shirt with flared cuffs. Its cut is derived from the yukata, the Japanese summer kimono made of lightweight cotton.
What we kept from the yukata
The yukata doesn't feel restrictive. It allows freedom of movement in the shoulders, hangs straight, and features understated finishes. We adopted this same logic: room for the body, a clean line, and no distracting details.
What we adapted
A traditional yukata flares out significantly. On our t-shirt, the flare is intentionally more subtle: it is visible at the sleeve without transforming the silhouette. The idea is to wear the piece every day, rather than saving it for a special occasion.
Why this reference
Atleïs draws inspiration from how different cultures experience clothing. Japan is one of them. We are interested in the yukata because it solves a simple problem—dressing without restricting—with very little effort.
The piece is available for pre-order and will be delivered no later than January 15, 2027.
